Oregon Star Party 2003

Van, trailer and telescope Orion Atlas on a Losmandy G-11 mount

Tuesday August 26, 2003

I arrived at Oregon Star Party (OSP) 2003, Indian Trail Spring, late afternoon. My telescope configuration for OSP 2003 was an Orion Atlas 10 telescope on a Losmandy G-11 mount. The Orion Atlas 10 inch Newtonian reflector has a 254mm aperture with a 1200mm focal length at f/4.7.

Mars was my primary imaging target for OSP 2003. Tuesday night I started imaging Mars at 11:18 pm with a Nikon Coolpix 990 digital camera afocal coupled to a Tele Vue Radian 10mm eyepiece with a Tele Vue Paracorr Coma Corrector. I took 1,318 Mars images until 4:02 am in the dawn twilight. In the dawn twilight I took 149 Saturn images until 4:28 am.
