Astroimaging
Astronomical Observing with Cameras
Observing astronomical objects with a camera is very exciting in that astronomical images
contain fainter details that can be seen using visual observing methods.
Another benefit of astroimaging is sharing your images with others.
To start astroimaging one needs a camera.
A telescope may not be needed depending upon the type of astroimaging.
Astroimaging equipment ranges widely depending upon the type of astroimaging.
For example, using a camera to take
star trails and meteors photographs require very little equipment.
On the other hand, a CCD image of
M106 galaxy requires a telescope, computer skills, imaging processing skills, etc.
There are many resources that can help in learning about astroimaging.
These resources include information about different imaging/photographing techniques and astroimaging equipment.
Also, information is available on astronomical objects to image.
The below links covers the different aspects of astroimaging.
They contains information about cameras, photography methods and equipment.
Some topics such as CCD reference library is subdivided into beginner, intermediate and advanced sections.
