Moon Jupiter Mars Venus Grand Conjunction June 15, 1991
The Moon is in lower center, highly overexposed; it was actually
a crescent, but even the dark portion, lit up by earthshine, is overexposed.
Between the Moon and the tree are Mars above Jupiter, with Venus to their
right. The light at the top of the tree is evidently lens flare.
Photo was taken on Kodak ISO 400 slide film with a Fujica 35mm camera with
a 55mm lens at f/1.8 for an unrecorded time. The camera was on an
equatorial mount, with the long axis of the frame aligned north-south on
the celestial sphere. After digitizing on an HP Photosmart scanner
(original model), the picture was rotated and cropped.
