My "observatory" is a 10x12 insulated and heated shed adjoining my residence. A 5x5 concrete pad is incorporated in the deck to eliminate vibration. A small pass-through door can be seen under the window; this is to allow the cabling from the telescope and the camera to the computers inside.
Once the telescope is polar aligned and the imaging camera is focused, I can activate the telescope drives and imaging camera from inside the shed. The three computers in the shed are used for telescope control (left), image processing (center), and image aquisition (right).
