10" Newtonian

The 10" Newtonian telescope was constructed by club members in ????.  An overhaul of the optics (cleaning and having the dead moths removed) in ???? helped the view considerably.  While having the scope stripped down, we also went and had the mirror realuminized and added a protective coating to the surface to protect the aluminum from oxidation.  This made the images at the eyepiece significantly brighter.  This scope is the crown jewel of the club owned scopes.

The poncet table was constructed by members to allow the scope to track objects during open house events.  Little did they realize at the time that people holding onto the scope for stability would knock it out of position about every third person.
