Joining the NAA

Each membership includes:

• A subscription to our monthly newsletter, The Focal Plane.
• Inclusion in the NAA-sponsored field trips and other activities.
• The potential to use the club's observatories on one's own.
• Use of the club library of hundreds of books, periodicals, and video recordings.
• Use of our private observing sites ("dark sky sites").
• Discounts to Sky & Telescope.

The NAA is a member of the Astronomical League, a nation-wide federation of astronomy clubs which publishes its own newsletter, sponsors national and regional conventions, and has numerous other benefits; NAA members can individually join the League through the club and receive all League benefits at a notable discount over the normal individual membership fee.
Another benefit of joining the Astronomical League is that you'll also become a member of the North Central Region of the Astronomical League (NCRAL).

A Note: Don't feel that you have to know all about astronomy to join the NAA. Many of our members knew little about the subject when they joined; they joined to learn more about astronomy by sharing it with more experienced amateurs, a method often more fun and efficient than studying on one's own.

As a new member, you will receive a packet with general information on our club and our many activities, maps and information on our various observing sites, a copy of the club's constitution, and other items designed to help you get the most out of your membership.
